Kelly Ownby, MD, is board certified in Adult Psychiatry (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology) and Addiction Medicine (American Board of Preventative Medicine). Dr. Ownby has also completed training with Postpartum Support International and is passionate about women’s health issues. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science from Furman University in Greenville, S.C., and completed her residency in psychiatry at James H. Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University.
In addition to serving as Chief Resident in Psychiatry, Dr. Ownby has 15 years of clinical experience in various settings, including inpatient, addiction treatment centers, outpatient, and residential mental health treatment. She has been a guest presenter on numerous topics, including ‘Diagnosis of Treatment of Psychiatric Disorders during Pregnancy,’ ‘Psychopharmacology’ and ‘Recent Updates in Adult Mental Health Treatment.’
Dr. Ownby is passionate about helping her patients advocate for themselves and feels that people should be educated about their illnesses and treatment options so they can be empowered to make the best decisions with their providers. Dr. Ownby is excited to bring her patients another successful treatment option for depression with TMS Therapy.
